In alignment with the school’s ethos of fostering inclusive, respectful, and aspirational learning environments, the successful candidate will play a vital role in helping students overcome barriers to learning. You will contribute to a setting where every young person is encouraged to develop confidence, independence, and a sense of belonging.

This full-time, long-term position is ideal for someone who is committed to making a meaningful difference and supporting the school’s mission of delivering high-quality education grounded in kindness, resilience, and strong community values.

Key Responsibilities

- Adapt learning materials and approaches to meet a range of communication and learning needs, including sensory sensitivities and structured learning preferences

- Support classroom teachers with lesson delivery, resource preparation, and behaviour management using positive, proactive strategies

- Foster the development of literacy, numeracy, communication, and social interaction skills in line with each student’s targets

- Use structured approaches (such as visual supports, routines, and clear expectations) to create a predictable and secure learning environment

- Support students during unstructured times (e.g. break and lunch) to encourage positive peer interactions and social confidence

- Promote independence and emotional regulation, helping students to develop coping strategies and resilience

- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, therapists, and pastoral teams to ensure a consistent and holistic approach to support

- Monitor student progress, providing feedback and contributing to reviews and planning

- Maintain a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment that reflects the school’s commitment to wellbeing and inclusion

- Engage in ongoing professional development, training, and team meetings to uphold high standards of care and practice
