Highway Maintenance Engineer

Our client, is currently seeking a Highway Maintenance Engineer for a temporary contract.

Key Responsibilities:

• Managing highway maintenance schemes to ensure efficiency and compliance with regulations
• Overseeing highway construction projects from planning through to completion
• Ensuring adherence to health and safety standards specific to highway works
• Implementing Chapter 8 and highway traffic management requirements effectively
• Coordinating with various stakeholders to resolve issues and optimise project delivery
• Providing technical guidance and support to junior staff
• Conducting regular site inspections to monitor progress and identify potential problems
• Reporting on project status and maintaining accurate documentation

Job Requirements:

• Significant experience in managing highway maintenance schemes
• In-depth knowledge of highway construction techniques and materials
• Experience in highway health and safety practices
• Proficiency in understanding Chapter 8 and highway traffic management requirements
• Valid driving licence and access to a car
• Ability to work on-site for three days a week and in the office for two days a week
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• High Viz Jacket and Safety Shoes for on-site visits
